Description

Brazoria County is seeking proposals for roadway scour repair, embankment restoration and riprap stabilization to the CR 179 Bridge. This project addresses a section of asphalt roadway that was compromised by hydraulic scour, resulting in pavement undermining, loss of subgrade support, and erosion of the adjacent embankment near the bridge abutment. Work includes removal of the damaged pavement, excavation of the full extent of undermined material, and placement of flowable fill and TxDOT-approved compacted embankment to re-establish a stable foundation. The roadway will be reconstructed with new flexible pavement layers in accordance with TxDOT Standard Specifications to restore full structural capacity and serviceability.
