Description

The DART Cityplace Station Modernization Program includes the modification of Cityplace Station allowing level boarding across the entire platform extents along with general renovation of the station finishes, security and some building systems. The intent of this program is to not only update the stations for accessibility but to update the stations to meet the expectations of the DART ridership in terms of patron comfort and security. This project is anticipated to be completed by September 2029. The Program raises the existing platform extents approximately 7 inches to allow level boarding along the entire length of the platform. The scope impacts various aspects of the station including stairs, ramps, amenities, finishes and the circulation patterns which all need to be taken into consideration. Verification for compliance with ADA/TAS will be required. The Cityplace Station remodeling effort should include the complete removal and replacement of all interior finishes at the Platform Level to provide the DART patron a contemporary, comfortable and safe rider experience. In addition, new floor and wall finishes above the platform level are to be included. The replacement finishes should be robust and durable to reduce required maintenance, and the building systems should be integrated and energy efficient. Lighting levels should be enhanced over the existing levels and should be in a color spectrum similar to daylight to reduce the feel of being underground.
