Description
The City of Fredericksburg (City) is conducting a solicitation for storm drainage improvements at the intersection of Lewis Street and Sophia Street in the City. The purpose of the project is to remove failed and undersized storm sewer infrastructure and replace it with upgraded drainage facilities designed to improve system capacity, reliability, and long-term performance. The work includes the removal of an existing 8-inch storm sewer pipe, two existing 12-inch storm sewer pipes, one existing drop inlet, and one existing manhole located in the roadway. As part of the proposed improvements, the existing manhole will be replaced with a new manhole, and the existing drop inlet will be replaced with a new drop inlet. The storm drainage system will also be upgraded by replacing the removed 8-inch and 12-inch storm sewer pipes with a new 24-inch storm sewer pipe and replacing the remaining existing 12-inch storm sewer pipe with a new 30-inch storm sewer pipe. All asphalt restoration shall be completed with this project. In addition to the storm sewer improvements, the project includes the installation and maintenance of all necessary erosion and sediment control measures, traffic control measures, and any other temporary controls or appurtenances required to safely complete work and protect the public, adjacent properties, and existing infrastructure during construction. Disturbed areas will be restored upon completion of the work in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.
