Boulder County Parks & Open Space Department seeks bids to build a hay shed to be constructed on the ERTL Open Space Property owned by the County of Boulder and located at 7042 North 107th Street, Longmont, CO 80504. The hay shed will be used by the agricultural lease tenant to store his and Boulder County hay crop. Most of the hay will be stacked inside via a mechanical stack-wagon; therefore, clearance for height and width needs to be taken into consideration. From experience, our tenants can store from 4,200 to 5,000 small bales of hay in these storage facilities. The selected contractor will provide wet-stamped engineered plans, foundation and rough grade preparation, erection of the building, and final grade work. ERTL Open Space Property Hay Storage Facility 1. Hay storage building to be steel or wood framed 2. 40’ wide X 90’ long 3. Minimum 17’ truss clearance for mechanical haystack wagons 4. Two sidewalls, one end wall sheeted and enclosed 5. Open‐end wall shall have clear span 6. Finished grade earthen floor (no concrete floor) 7. Siding color shall be “Hickory moss” or equivalent 8. Roofing color shall be “Sierra” or equivalent 9. Backfill should be compacted to 90% maximum density determined in accordance with ASTM D155‐7 10. Leave backfill slightly mounded to allow for settlement Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
