The Improvements under this Contract consist of The intent of this project is to enhance the transit passenger, bicycle and pedestrian experience through mobility and safety improvements along Orange Drive and Taft Street. The project limits are along Orange Drive with the Town of Davie from Florida's Turnpike to SR 7 / US 441 and Taft Street within the City of Hollywood from SR 7 / US 441 to N 40th Avenue. Along Orange drive this project will add a 5' wide concrete sidewalk along the north side of the road and the existing drainage swales on the north side of the road will be regraded. Along Taft Street, the existing 5' sidewalk on the north side of the road will be replaced with a 9'-11' wide shared use path. Curb and gutters will be added where necessary and Taft Street will be milled and resurfaced from SR 7 / US 441 to N 59th Court and also at intersections where the pavement widths are changed to accommodate the proposed shared use path. Existing utility and light poles adjacent to the north side of the road will be relocated to the back of the proposed shared use path. Driveway and drainage impact due to the addition of the shared use path will also be addressed. DBE goal 11%. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
