Hillsborough County Capital Programs Department requires a qualified Contractor toreplace a pedestrian bridge over Rocky Creek on the Upper Tampa Bay Trail. The proposed pedestrian bridge typical section clear width (inside railing-to-railing) will match the proposed approach trail width of 12-feet and will allow for emergency vehicles to utilize the bridge. The cross-section will be sloped at a maximum 2% to provide ADA accessibility and drainage. Pedestrian/bicycle railings with a height of 48-inches are also provided. The shared use path approach will tie into the 12-foot-wide clear width of the bridge. A 2-foot minimum reconstruction area will be required to accommodate the clear width on both approaches. The proposed bridge will be a two-span bridge with 63-foot spans. The overall bridge length is 126-feet, which is shorter than the existing bridge, to mitigate for the removal of the existing piles which currently restrict the bridge opening. Bonds required.
