Final Clarifier Drive Repair (Drive & Starter Replacement): Remove existing pier supported, center drive unit of existing clarifier. Provide and install new pier supported, center drive unit, new NEMA 4x SS electrical panel, motor starter, controls; salvage and re-use existing drive platform deck and handrails. Re-assemble clarifier unit including level, plumb, and adjust. Complete testing, startup, and commissioning. Existing handrail, electrical, conduit, and stairs to remain. Protect from damage and paint/primer overspray. Remove handrails, conduit, wire, etc. as needed for Work and replace to as good or better condition as approved by the Engineer. Coordinate final adjustment and startup with other Work in awarded bid schedules. Final Clarifier No. 1 Painting: Blast, prime, and paint existing clarifier equipment within clarifier basin including rake arms, pipes, troughs, angles, cables, channels, column, cage, supports, drive platform, and appurtenances. Existing handrails and conduit are excluded. Blast, prime, and paint existing bridge structure within the existing clarifier basin including, trusses, angles, channels, decking, plates, and appurtenances. Existing HDG metals, handrails, conduit, electrical, and stairs are excluded. Blast, prime, and paint existing steel v-notch weir within existing clarifier basin in-place including both exposed faces and both edges, plates, nuts, bolts. Existing handrail, electrical, conduit, and stairs to remain. Protect from damage and paint/primer overspray. Remove handrails, conduit, wire, etc. as needed for Work and replace to as good or better condition as approved by the Engineer. Remove and Replace Bridge Walkway Decking for Final Clarifier No. 1: Remove existing steel diamond tread plate on the existing bridge between HDG stair landing and drive platform. Cut welds and grind support structure smooth. Repair damage to bridge structure by filling with welding rod and/or patch plates. Provide and install new 3/16-in steel diamond tread plate on existing bridge. Weld plates in place. Weld plates at seams. Blast, prime, and paint new steel diamond treads (top/bottom faces and edges). Blast, prime, and paint support structures and repair bridge paint. Existing handrail, electrical, conduit, and stairs to remain. Protect from damage and paint/primer overspray. Remove handrails, conduit, wire, etc. as needed for Work and replace to as good or better condition as approved by the Engineer. Remove and Replace Rake Arm Squeegees Remove existing rake arm squeegees and squeegee attachment hardware. Coordinate with Bid Schedule 2 for blast, prime, paint existing rake arm c-channels. Provide and install new 16 ga, 304 stainless steel squeegees using new HDG hardware. Adjust squeegees for proper alignment and clearances. Coordinate with Bid Schedule 1 for clarifier alignment, leveling, and commissioning and make final adjustment to squeegees for proper operation. Remove and Replace Rake Arm Tie Rod Clip Assemblies Ties rods vary in length and diameter based on position/location. Mark tie rod assemblies prior to removal for proper installation after clip replacement is completed. Mark location of clips to be replaced prior to removal to ensure proper installation of tie rod assemblies after clip replacement. Properly support rake arm and clarifier equipment during Work to protect equipment from damage. Protect grouted floor from damage. Remove existing tie rod assembly for clips to be replaced. Do not damage tie rods, appurtenances, and/or connecting bolts/nuts. Salvage all for re-installation after clip replacement. Any materials damaged by the Contractor during removal shall be replaced with Engineer approved materials at no additional cost to the Owner. Remove existing tie rod clip to be replaced. Grind smooth existing surfaces to receive new clip assembly. Repair damaged surfaces by filling with welding rod and/or patch plate(s). Provide and install new tie rod clip assembly for upper attachment and/or lower attachment as needed. Coordinate blast, prime, painting of installed clip assemblies with painting. Re-install salvaged tie rod assemblies. Align, adjust, level, rakes arms. Coordinate with final commissioning and startup under clarifier drive replacement. Make final adjustments to rakes arms during startup and commissioning for proper operation of the clarifier. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
