The City of Charlottesville is soliciting quotations from qualified vendors to perform watering of 385 recent tree installations planted between Spring 2022 and Spring 2024 in street medians, parks, and school grounds in Charlottesville, Virginia. The Contractor shall follow regulations to ensure clear zones, sight distance and safety of the motoring public, pedestrians and contract personnel. Watering Locations: Forty-five (45) locations throughout the City, including ten (10) school sites, eleven (11) parks, and twenty-four (24) street medians. Maps and tree species to be provided upon award of contract. Watering Schedule: The Contractor shall provide hand (hose) watering of tree installations throughout the summer and early fall 2024, from June 1 – September 15, 2024, twice per month. General Watering Requirements: Contractor shall irrigate each tree with at least 15 gallons, but no more than 25 gallons, per visit. Property Damage: The Contractor shall notify the City’s Contract Administrator within one hour of any accident or damage to property of any type that occurs on the property during the performance of the contract.
