The Work under this Project for Interior Renovation of Berkeley Middle School consists of demolition and removal of some existing casework, removal and replacement of carpeting, and painting of some walls and door/window frames. The painting also includes the painting of interior concrete masonry unit wall assemblies, and gypsum board assemblies, as noted in the Contract Plan/Drawings and Specifications and any other work required as specified in the Contract Documents, shown on the Drawings, or otherwise required to complete the work of this contract in accordance with the Contract Plan/Drawings and Specifications. The panels below the classroom door assembly windows are assumed to contain asbestos. These panels should not be sanded, abraded, or otherwise disturbed during the project. Preparation of these panels for painting should be performed by non-abrasive cleaning (i.e., wiping). Power tools should not be used. The scope also includes an additive-alternate to replace casework in the Media Center. Bonds required.
