James City County Department of General Services is seeking bids from qualified contractors to perform asphalt repair work at the Jamestown Beach Event Park located at 2205 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185. 1. The work under this Scope is tentatively scheduled to begin late spring/summer 2024. 2. Contractor to mill asphalt as referenced on the Site Plan in Appendix D. 3. All paving joints will be sawcut. 4. Contractor to undercut two pavement areas with unsuitable base as referenced on the Site Plan in Appendix D. Place and compact 12” of 21A stone in undercut areas. Dispose of all material spoils. 5. Contractor to place 2” of SM 9.5A asphalt in milled areas. 6. All work and materials are to comply with the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, Sixth Edition of the Regional Construction Standards. 7. Contractor will coordinate all work schedules with the designated Project Manager. As such, work will be scheduled to provide minimal impact to the public’s use of the facility. 8. Contractor to provide traffic control measures as necessary. 9. Contractor shall conform to all applicable codes, safety and regulatory requirements mandated by the Federal, State, or local government. 10. Contractor is responsible for verifying all measurements and quantities prior to bidding.
