James City County is seeking to replace a 30-year-old Nortel / Avaya phone system with a modern telephony system to support staff in the day-to-day operation of the county. The proposed system is required to support all county work environments including in-office, in-home and in the field. Some offices operate small call center operations (less than 10 agents) to manage public contact for their operations. The county is seeking a Hybrid system supporting hosted telephony services while maintaining local phone service connection or gateways as emergency backup connections. Implementation services including planning, configuration and installation of equipment, and software is required as a team effort by the vendor and County technical staff.
