The City of Newport News, VA is seeking proposals to provide cover dirt disposal services. The purpose of this solicitation is to ensure the proper disposal of cover/spoil dirt from various construction sites, drainage systems, and other City-owned properties. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing site(s) where the City may dump cover/spoil dirt, from its own vehicles. All cover dirt brought by the City will be free from any contaminants such as chemicals, debris, or hazardous materials. Scope: The Contractor shall provide cover/spoil dirt disposal services as requested by the City, based on the volume and frequency of dirt collection requirements. The Contractor shall provide at least one site where the City of Newport News can deposit loads of cover/spoil dirt. If the Contractor has multiple sites, that is acceptable as well. The Contractor shall have at least one dump site within a 10-mile driving distance of 276 Enterprise Dr, Newport News, VA 23603. The Contractor shall ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to waste management and disposal. Cover/spoil dirt will primarily be coming from the Stormwater, Wastewater, and Streets Maintenance divisions of Public Works, but the contract may also be utilized by other City departments if they have a cover dirt disposal need.
