E. The work to be accomplished includes the replacement of up to six (6)

interior ladder rungs, and a limited amount of weld repairs of corroded

surfaces. It is anticipated that less than 10 localized corroded areas (e.g.

pits) will require weld repair.

The work to be accomplished will include a limited amount of grinding of

sharp edges that have resulted from corrosion. All sharp edges shall be

ground or otherwise radiused, as required by the Engineer in accordance

with NACE SP0178. Up to a total of 100-linear feet of grinding may be

required, but the full extent of this mechanical work will not be fully

understood until after corrosion has been removed by abrasive blast

cleaning.

G. The work to be accomplished will include a limited amount of weld repairs

to deteriorated roof areas welds (e.g. hatch connections). It is anticipated

that up to 15-linear feet of weld repairs will be required at the roof

openings.

H. Additional mechanical/welding repairs may be required, which would be

completed using the time and material rates submitted under the Contract

optional bid-line item submitted with the bid.

I. A corroded interior ladder Saf-T-Climb device shall be removed and

properly disposed.
