Description

Project Summary: This Project will permanently remove the four Check 17 radial gates and retain one of them for storage. The Project includes the following principal features: Earthwork and other related work, including a. Soil scarification and excavation. b. Soil compaction. c. Placement of aggregate base. d. Construction of temporary access road. e. Site restoration to match existing conditions. Contaminated Site Material Removal: a. Removal, recovery, and disposal of hazardous substances, materials, and waste associated with the proposed structural modifications and Stoplogs Repair and Transportation: a. Replace stoplog rubber seals, including new steel plates and hardware. b. Transport stoplogs from Dos Amigos Pumping Plant and mobilize at Check Structure 17, for installation by Department personnel. c. Transport stoplogs from Check Structure 17 and return to Dos Amigos Pumping Plants storage area. Fabricate Radial Gate Cradle Frame. Dewatering of Check Structure 17 gate bays, Removal of all four existing radial gates and appurtenances at Check Structure 17. Dispose of radial gates No.1, 3, and 4, Radial gate No. 2 shall be transported to the Coalinga O&M Yard and stored on Contractor fabricated steel gate cradle frame, Fences and Gates: a. Reinstall barbed wire fence and swing gates.
