Description

Selected contractors may be utilized for on-call maintenance and emergency mainline repair services. The Contractor must have qualified personnel available to perform excavation below grade and repair or replace damaged or defective piping systems. The Contractor shall demonstrate prior experience with water mainline repairs, roadway restoration, and traffic control, including proper delineation practices. Emergency repair work shall proceed continuously until completion unless otherwise directed by the City. The Contractor shall be capable of performing emergency mainline water repairs ranging from 1-inch to 30-inch diameter pipelines within City limits. At a minimum, the Contractor shall provide the following: A basic crew of four (4) workers, including one equipment operator, one driver, one foreperson/laborer, and one general laborer. Appropriate equipment, including but not limited to an excavator, truck, compaction equipment, trench box, trash pumps, walk behind saws, lighting, and necessary tools. Required materials, including but not limited to traffic control devices, work zone safety delineation, sediment and erosion control materials, buried utility warning tape, and other materials necessary for compliance with safety standards.
