Description

The sanitary sewer improvements will consist of constructing a new 21-inch VCP sewer along Katella Avenue between Disneyland Drive and Harbor Boulevard. In addition, the existing 21-inch and 24-inch sewer will be replaced with a new 30-inch VCP sewer along Katella Avenue between Walnut Street and Harbor Boulevard. The project also includes roadway widening improvements such as constructing a new fourth westbound traffic lane and a pedestrian sidewalk. Lastly, the project requires street rehabilitation improvements such as 2-inch and 3-inch asphalt concrete pavement cold mill and overlay in accordance to the City of Anaheim standards. In addition to the work described above, the following scope items are typical: sewer pipeline removal and disposal; construction of new manholes; connection of existing sewers to new manholes; connecting a new sewer to an existing manhole; connection of existing sewer service laterals to the new sewer pipeline; sewer bypassing to maintain sewer service; trench restoration; sheeting, shoring, and bracing; grind and cap paving; replacement of inductive loop detectors and signal conduit; replacement of traffic striping and pavement markers; temporary traffic control measures; adjustment of manhole covers, water valve covers, and gas valve covers; implementation of a Water Pollution Control Program and Best Management Practices; and all appurtenant work as shown on the plans and delineated in the specifications.
