Description

The City is seeking to acquire Design-Build services for a Design-Build Project that will include replacing the medium switchboards, transformers, and switches at six unit substations at MBC. In addition, the project will replace eight runs of busway, approximately 500 feet, will include testing of the equipment, and installation of a metal awning for equipment protection. This work shall include all required structural modifications to foundations for equipment and awnings. Work will be completed in phases to avoid any interruption to daily plant operation. Work will include developing a contingency plan to temporarily to account for an unforeseen transformer failure which will temporally replace any of the failed equipment that occurs during the design phase (prior to installation of permeant equipment). Each phase will replace the medium low voltage switchboards, transformers and switches for two unit substations at a time. Work and Services required of the Design-Builder will include design, construction, and startup of the Project and shall be responsible for all permits required. The Design-Builder shall provide all design, coordination, management, supervision, labor, services, temporary facility, equipment, tools, supplies, and any other item needed to complete the design, construction, and start-up of the Project as described in Attachment A .
