The purpose of this Open Invitation to Bid (ITB) is to solicit bids for the Torrey Life Sciences Greenhouse Improvements - Phase 1 project. This project involves hazardous material abatement and reglazing of Greenhouse 3 (GH-3) at Torrey Life Sciences at the University of Connecticut. Work includes removal of all single pane glazing and compression brackets (roof only), cleaning of glass and framing, and reinstallation using approved primer and structural silicone sealant systems. Adhesion testing will be performed per ASTM C1521. Scope also includes removal and off-site disposal of approximately 5,500 linear feet of asbestos- and PCB-containing glazing compounds associated with 1,652 glass panes. Only contractors with experience in abatement can submit their cost proposal and statement of qualification for this project.

The Town of Ellington solicits electronic proposals for the provision of labor, services & material to assist the Water Pollution Control Authority under the guidance of the Director of Public Works with the sewer project which consists of providing approximately 800 linear feet of 8-inch SDR35 PVC gravity sewer, sanitary sewer manholes, approximately 300 linear feet of 6-inch SDR35 PVC service connection piping, approximately 65 linear feet of 8-inch SDR35 PVC service connection piping, and connection to an existing gravity manhole on Windermere Avenue. Furthermore, the project includes removing and resetting or replacing existing site improvements, restoring disturbed areas to existing conditions or better, and replacing bituminous concrete on Town Roads.
