Description

The City of Pembroke Pines is seeking bids from qualified firms, hereinafter referred to as the Contractor, to construct a stormwater pump station and associated utility improvements, including all labor, materials, equipment, permitting, and coordination necessary to complete the work, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this solicitation. A. The utility work shown on the drawings includes the design and construction of a stormwater pump station located near the western limits of the City of Pembroke Pines. The project includes the installation of a duplex submersible pump system to re-channel seepage from Conservation Area 3A into the Everglades via the SFWMD S-9A Pump Station. Work includes site grading, construction of a pump station wet well, installation of electric pumps, control panel, automatic transfer switch (ATS), permanent backup generator, associated electrical improvements, hydraulic piping, SCADA accommodations, and discharge connections. Additional work includes permitting, environmental coordination, paving, restoration, and coordination with multiple regulatory agencies including SFWMD, SBDD, FDOT, and FDEP. B. The work associated with this project involves active force mains that are within the Rights-Of-Way (ROW) or property owned by the City. All work activities shall be required to be in accordance with the permits issued by the respective agencies. All work performed will be required to be done while maintaining the functional operation of the utility lines. C. All materials, equipment, skills, tools, and labor which is reasonably and properly inferable and necessary for the proper completion of the Work and in compliance with the requirements stated or implied by these Specifications or Drawings shall be furnished and installed by the CONTRACTOR without additional compensation, whether specifically indicated in the Contract Documents or not. D. Repair, replace, or otherwise settle with the OWNER or OWNERS Representative, if damage to property or existing facilities occurs, including damage to pavements, utilities, lawns, structures, etc. E. Construct the Project under a Unit Price Contract. F. The CONTRACTOR shall perform the work complete, in place, and ready for continuous service, and shall include repairs, testing, permits, clean up, replacements, and restoration required because of disruptions caused during this construction. G. Any damage that occurs through the fault of the CONTRACTOR, shall be completely restored at the expense of the CONTRACTOR, based upon current City standards. H. Pipe Manufacturer shall provide training for CONTRACTORS personnel on the proper methods of handling, installing, joining and backfilling of all mains. I. Contractor shall verify location and depth of existing utilities to determine actual need for utility line transitions. If existing mains are not in conflict with proposed force main, then the transitions will not be required. Please refer to Attachment A - Specifications - SECTION 01010 "SUMMARY OF WORK" for further details.
