Description
**Opportunities for Subcontractors***The City of Pembroke Pines is seeking quotes from qualified firms, to provide labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to complete the renovation and re-turfing of the Driving Range and Practice Area, including site preparation, soil amendment, grading, and installation of Paspalum Supreme sod, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this solicitation. Driving Range and Practice Area Renovation Excavate and strip existing turf within the designated Driving Range and Practice Area, approximately 40,000 square feet, and relocate materials to onsite stockpiles as directed by the Director of Golf. All spoils shall remain onsite and be reused within the project or placed along lake banks as directed. Contractor shall rototill the designated area of the driving range tee as required to prepare the subgrade for new turf installation. Approximately 12,000 square feet shall be rototilled to a depth of six (6) inches. Following rototilling, Contractor shall incorporate one (1) inch of 90/10 soil mix into designated areas to provide a uniform and suitable growing medium. All work areas shall be cleared of debris, organic material, and foreign objects prior to grading. The Contractor shall ensure the subgrade is properly prepared to support finish grading and turf installation. Contractor shall laser level driving range tee area to provide smooth, even playing surfaces consistent with existing course conditions, approximately 12,000 square feet. Final grading shall ensure positive drainage and eliminate low spots. All grading work must be reviewed and approved by the Director of Golf prior to turf installation. Provide and install Paspalum Supreme sod to all prepared areas, 40,000 square feet. Sod shall match existing turf conditions and be installed in a healthy, uniform condition suitable for golf course play. Sod shall be laid tightly, properly rolled, and watered to promote establishment. Any grass to be installed must arrive healthy and with proper green color. Any damaged, unhealthy, or non-conforming sod shall be rejected and replaced at no additional cost. Should a delay occur between subgrade preparation and turf installation that results in erosion, weed growth, or degradation of the prepared surface, it shall be the Contractors responsibility to restore the area to the previously approved condition prior to installation of sod. Care shall be taken when transporting materials to ensure no damage occurs to existing course conditions. Hauling routes must be approved by the Director of Golf prior to commencing work. Any damage to the site, existing turf, or surrounding areas as a result of construction activities shall be the sole responsibility of the Contractor and shall be repaired at no additional cost. Contractor shall maintain the site in a clean and safe condition at all times. All debris generated from daily operations shall be properly managed and shall not be disposed of in an unlawful manner. Contracted Company MUST have a project Supervisor on property at all times. 4.2 General Conditions All Companies must conduct a mandatory onsite visit and take measurements and verify square footage estimates before bidding. All fill and waste materials shall be recycled for the project and have two on-course locations for materials. Contractor will be required to schedule all work with Director of Golf. The work must be performed Monday through Friday or as approved by the Director of Golf to avoid interference with ongoing facility operations. Any use of existing parking areas shall be requested in advance. Contractor shall coordinate debris relocation, removal and placement with the Director of Golf. Contractor must not allow materials and debris generated daily to be disposed of in an illegal manner. Contractor shall take proper care to protect and secure the work area as required for normal facility operations. Contractor is responsible for restoration of any existing areas damaged during construction at no additional cost once the project is completed. Site shall be maintained in a safe condition in accordance with OSHA standards and shall be kept clean of debris at the end of each work day
