Hendry County EMS Helicopter Pad Improvements , LaBelle, FL
Hendry County intends to replace concrete (Component A), lighting, and electrical systems (Component B) at the EMS helicopter landing pad at 1050 Forestry Division Road, LaBelle, FL 33935, in accordance with Florida Building Code (8th Edition, 2023) and the requirements herein.
Component A Concrete Construction Construct a 50 50 6 helipad slab using 4,000 PSI concrete. Include a 12 12 mono perimeter footer with continuous 2 #5 rebar and 6"6" heavy-gauge (6-gauge) wire mesh with fiber reinforcement. Construct a 34 10 walkway slab; final thickness to be confirmed by County prior to construction based on site verification (note: prior references indicated both 4" and 6"). Boom pump may be used; boom must be properly flagged. Component B Electrical & Lighting Replace 16 outer pad marking lights, 4 pad marker lights, and 4 centerline spotlights. Install red elevated perimeter lights (14 height) with base plates and underground junction boxes; install semi-flush red marking lights and semi-flush white spotlights set in the concrete pad. Replace/install all wiring, conduit, and waterproof junction boxes starting from existing switches; provide Bluetooth/Wi-Fi remote switching with handheld remote and smartphone access.
