Description

The Project, including mobilization and demobilization, consists of: Demolition and removal of existing Pump Station No.315 to the extent indicated on the plans, which includes; the existing wet well and dry well, the existing pumps, emergency pump discharge box, electrical and mechanical equipment, piping, fittings, conduits and all other appurtenances; cut and fill with flowable fill the existing influent 8-inch gravity sewer pipes and the effluent 4-inch ductile iron force main that is to be abandoned. Transport of demolition material, including asphalt pavement, miscellaneous concrete, sod, unsuitable backfill material, pipes, valves, pumps, electrical and mechanical equipment to be legally disposed and/or salvaged, as ordered by the Department; furnishing, delivering and placing suitable backfill material as necessary. Furnishing, delivering and installing approximately 183 linear feet of 8-inch PVC (C900) DR25 colored green pipe with neoprene gaskets for gravity sanitary sewer; three (3) precast reinforced concrete shallow sanitary sewer manholes; one (1) precast reinforced concrete utility conflict manhole (Type J, 72"x52"); core drilling the existing reinforced concrete box culvert (abandoned pedestrian underpass); making a core drill connection to an existing gravity sewer manhole for connection of the proposed gravity sanitary sewer and including rehabilitation of the manhole; sheeting and shoring ordered left in place by the Engineer; sewage bypass operations with tankering, if required; furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required for cleaning and testing the gravity sanitary sewer. Ancillary work includes all permitting, stormwater pollution prevention and erosion control, cutting, dewatering, grouting, plugging and capping existing main(s) that are to be placed out of service; removal, salvage, cleaning, transport, unloading and storage of manhole frames and covers, and castings on existing mains that are to be placed out of service; protecting trees to remain; removal of existing asphalt pavement and sod; removal, transport, salvage, and legal disposal of demolition material; temporary and permanent replacement of any pavement, curb and gutter, sod, landscaping, pavement markings damaged by the construction of the Project, and all other appurtenant and miscellaneous items and work necessary for a complete, fully functional, and satisfactory installation. The project also includes providing conceptual Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans; providing offduty police for traffic control as may be required by the Department or governing authorities. Due to maintenance of traffic requirements in FOOT roadways, night work is expected for lane closures.
