Description

SCOPE OF WORK To completely remove and replace two (2) existing Liebert HVAC systems (like for like) in the Water Utilities Department (WUD) data center per the project requirements provided below: a. The removal and installation shall be one paired unit at a time until the new equipment is completely installed and functioning properly. b. Contractor to supply temporary air conditioning during replacement. To keep data center from 68F to 72F. c. The existing condenser disconnects shall remain and be reconnected with testing. d. The existing condenser liquid-tight conduits shall be replaced with new ones. e. The hurricane tie-down cables shall be removed and stored at Facilities Management Department (FMD) for reinstallation. Damaged or deteriorated components shall be replaced like-for-like. f. All exterior line set insulation shall be replaced with new, coated with two coats of Ultraviolet (UV) protective paint. g. The interior unit disconnects shall remain and be reused. h. All new line set piping shall be hard-drawn K-type copper with matching fittings. i. All new interior conduits should be liquid-tight or rigid aluminum with matching fittings and connections. j. All new wiring must comply with current codes and manufacturer specifications. k. The contractor shall provide and install an auxiliary stainless-steel drain pan under both air handler units. l. Existing condensate lines shall be cleaned and may be reused if suitable; if replaced, new lines shall match the existing setup. m. The existing two (2) duct smoke detectors shall be disabled by Electronic Services and Security (ESS) prior to work commencing. They will be removed where needed, protected, and reinstalled by the contractor. n. Each Air Handler Unit (AHU) has two (2) fire alarm shutdown relays, which will need to be connected to the new units. o. A pre-construction fire alarm duct smoke detector test shall be performed with ESS to confirm the current status of the devices and system.
