Cobble Mountain Unit 3 Turbine Generator Rehabilitation, Westfield, MA

The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from General Contractors for SWSC RFQ NO. 26-42 Cobble Mountain Unit 3 Turbine Generator Rehabilitation (Project) at the Cobble Mountain Powerhouse in Westfield, MA. Qualified and experienced DCAMM-certified GC firms who have demonstrated experience in the construction and implementation of similar work in terms of scale and complexity are invited to submit SOQs. The Project generally consists of disassembly all major components of the turbine and generator for cleaning, inspection, replacement, rehabilitation or overhaul as specified, reassembly, realignment, start-up and commissioning at the Cobble Mountain Powerhouse: 1711 Granville Road, Westfield, Massachusetts. This is the first step in a two step process & based on the SOQ's received in the first step, selected respondents will be invited to submit bids. Only General Contracting Firms prequalified in the first step will be permitted to submit bids in the second step. Prospective GCs must hold a DCAMM Certification in MECHANICAL SYSTEMS with a single limit greater than the $16,500,000 estimated construction cost. Prospective SCs must hold a DCAMM Certification in one or more of the following classes of work: (a) Painting; (b) Plumbing; and (c) Electrical Work.
