The City of Boston acting by its Public Facilities Commission, through its Director of the Public Facilities Department (PFD) solicits statements of qualifications (SOQ) to prequalify subcontractors and general contractors for this project with a construction estimate of $68,750,000. In general, work involves: Replacement of air handlers at Boston City Hall. Associated mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, painting, masonry, miscellaneous and ornamental iron work. Roof replacement. Renovation of mechanical spaces and shop area. This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is the first part of a two-step process. Based on the SOQsreceived in this Phase I. The Awarding Authority will select respondents it deems to be prequalified in accordance with the criteria set forth in the RFQ. Only contractors prequalified for this project in Phase I will be permitted to submit bids in Phase II.

Bridge No. U-01-004 (CRJ) carries Grove Street over Center Brook. The bridge is located approximately 300 south from Main Street (Route 140). The existing reinforced concrete slab superstructure and mortared stone masonry substructure will be demolished and removed. The new bridge will consist of cast-in-place concrete footings and pedestal walls to support a precast concrete rigid frame, precast headwalls supporting S3-TL4 railings, cast-in-place approach slabs, concrete U-wingwalls and precast concrete guardrail transitions at all four corners of the bridge. Temporary water diversion and control will be required. Approach roadway work includes full depth roadway reconstruction, mill and overlay, guardrail, HMA driveways and sidewalks. An existing 48 RCP culvert located northwest of the bridge will be relocated with a new concrete headwall. Utility work will include a new water main, gas main relocation, and telecommunications duct bank temporary support. A new Pedestrian Bridge No. U-01-004 (CRJ) and abutments are proposed to the east of the existing bridge. MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as, Bridge Construction for the project with an estimated value of $1,657,678 will be required.

The Project generally consists of disassembly all major components of the turbine and generator for cleaning, inspection, replacement, rehabilitation or overhaul as specified, reassembly, realignment, start-up and commissioning at the Cobble Mountain Powerhouse: 1711 Granville Road, Westfield, Massachusetts. This is the first step in a two step process & based on the SOQ's received in the first step, selected respondents will be invited to submit bids. Only General Contracting Firms prequalified in the first step will be permitted to submit bids in the second step. Prospective GCs must hold a DCAMM Certification in MECHANICAL SYSTEMS with a single limit greater than the $16,500,000 estimated construction cost. Prospective SCs must hold a DCAMM Certification in one or more of the following classes of work: (a) Painting; (b) Plumbing; and (c) Electrical Work.
