The purpose of the project is to decrease traffic delays and reduce crashes on Route 295 approaching the exits to Route 1 and to maintain traffic flow in the project area along the Route 1 corridor to three nearby shopping centers, including the Quaker Bridge Mall, Mercer Mall and Nassau Park along with other retail, office, hotel and residential development along the corridor. This project will address the capacity and operational improvements within the project limits through a combination of ramp (roadway and structural) widening, new ramp movements, barrier curb, and sign improvements that improve weaving conditions of traffic from Route 295 SB and NB as they access Route 1 NB.
