Description

Contractor is responsible for removing the two wood pole structures that are the first structures of two separate transmission lines that are the first structure after the substation h-frame deadend. Contractor is further responsible for unloading, building concrete foundations and installation of two replacement steel deadend structures, removing old conductor, installing new conductor between the existing lines and the new substation deadend structures. Existing fiber optic cables into the substation from these lines will be partially removed and connected to new fiber facilities. Contractor shall meet with BTU Staff to receive on-site personal briefing prior to any fiber activity which interrupts the integrity of existing fiber facilities. Contractor will be responsible for removing the two existing transformers from the Shady Lane Substation in conjunction with Sunbelt-Solomon. Contractor will be responsible for transferring the two new transformers from their storage location at Tabor Substation (fm984 at Boatcallie Road, Bryan, TX) to Shady Lane Substation. Contractor must allow enough time in their schedule for final assembly and oil processing of the new transformers at the site. Contractor shall be responsible for field testing of the two new transformers once they are assembled. Contractor will then be responsible for the remaining activities necessary to commission the new transformers. Both transformers are presently overfilled with oil pending install and filling of radiators. Some assembly work may require temporary storage of oil. Final assembly consists of installing: Three high voltage bushings Three low voltage phase bushings and one neutral bushing Eight radiators, radiator support bracing and fans Silica gel breather. The following additional transformer final assembly may be done by either the substation construction contractor or the subcontracted transformer final assembly contractor: High voltage arrester bracket, three high voltage arresters and grounding loop Three low voltage arresters and grounding loop Neutral bushing grounding bus bar.
