Description

El Paso County seeks a qualified Contractor to operate, maintain, and program the Los Portales Museum and the Old El Paso County Jail Museum in a manner that conveys the historical significance of San Elizario, instills local pride, and supports the preservation of historic buildings and cultural sites. The Contractor shall advance public understanding of local history while aligning operations with nationally recognized museum standards and state historic preservation best practices. The services shall be provided under a one-year contract term, with the option to extend the contract annually for up to five years upon approval. Services are anticipated to commence in October 2026. The County will provide written preliminary notice of its intent to extend the contract each year. Any such extensions are subject to the availability of funds and approval by Commissioners Court.
