The City of Granite City is requesting bids for a 2026 hot box to be used by the Public Works Department for street resurfacing and repair.
The City of Granite City is requesting bids for a 2026 compact excavator to be used by the Public Works Department for street and sidewalk construction and repair.
The proposed improvements consist of a SMART resurfacing of all lanes and shoulders in both directions of the interstate between the project limits. Patching and guardrail improvements within the project limits will also be performed. The bridges on SNs 060-0012 & 060-0013 will receive bridge joint replacements, bridge deck overlays, and approach pavement resurfacing. The work will be performed with nighttime lane closures and interstate directional closures for the staging. The project is located along I-55/I-70/US 40 near Collinsville, from 0.5 miles west of Black Lane to 0.4 miles east of IL 159; including ramps at Black Lane, IL 157, and IL 159, in Madison County. The bridge repairs are located along I-55/I-70/US40 over IL 157 on SNs 060-0012 and 060-0013. The net length of the project measures approximately 30,570 feet (5.79 miles) along the centerline of I-55/I-70/US 40.

The selected bidder shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete the project for a fully functional and code-compliant system, including but not limited to: System Procurement & Delivery: Supply and deliver a Type 1 hood system (102 x 60) constructed of minimum 18-gauge stainless steel, including all necessary baffles, grease filters, and removable grease collection cups. Fire Suppression System: Furnish and install a UL 300 compliant wet chemical fire suppression system (e.g., Ansul). This includes all piping, nozzles protecting cooking surfaces and the plenum, a manual pull station within the path of egress, and automatic fuel/power shut-off interlocks. Exhaust & Make-up Air (MUA) Systems: o Supply and install a properly sized rooftop exhaust fan and a dedicated Make-up Air (MUA) unit to ensure proper air balance. o Install all liquid-tight welded grease ductwork with a minimum 18-inch clearance from combustible materials. Roof & Structural Work: o Perform all necessary roof penetrations, including structural reinforcement, professional flashing, and sealing to maintain a watertight roof warranty. o Mount the hood canopy using non-combustible supports capable of meeting all gravity and seismic load requirements. Utility & Control Integration: o Perform all electrical wiring for hood lights, fans, and fire suppression interlocks. o Coordinate final gas and electrical hookups to ensure the automatic shut-off triggers upon system activation.
