Benton Franklin Transit (BFT) is soliciting for qualified contractors to provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to remove the existing walk-up service window and lobby service counter glazing systems and install new bullet-resistant glazing and panel systems at the Three Rivers Transit facility in Kennewick, Washington. BFT currently has thirty-two (32) overhead doors on the Maintenance building, with twenty-two (22) of the doors being motorized, and five (5) motorized overhead doors on the Bus Wash building. There are nine (9) interior overhead doors that are stationary. Historically, BFT has had eighty (80) hours of inspection, repair and/or replace labor time, per year. BFT costs have averaged $5,000-$10,000 annually for preventative maintenance and repair services and parts/materials. BFT has removed preventative maintenance from the solicitation. The scope of work will only include inspection, repair and or replace labor time and materials. BFT does not guarantee a minimum or maximum dollar amount associated with this Contract. This project will install a new gas fired back-up generator to support critical loads in the building as well as the emergency lighting alternate. Circuits will be adjusted within rooms to be connected to the back-up generator service via existing automatic transfer switch (ATS), and the electrical modifications to alter the existing electrical lines to the critical load locations in the labs. The building lighting will be transferred to be completely supported by the back-up generator, with a new manual and automatic transfer switch being installed to support the emergency lighting.
