Description
The Seattle Monorail Station Reconfiguration aims to upgrade the existing station to enhance accessibility, operational efficiency and extend the structure and services. The general scope of work includes structural concrete, structural steel, guardrails, transit gates, paint and lead abatement, skylights, fire & life safety, mechanical, electrical, site improvements, earthwork and wet utility upgrades. Structural improvements include repair of corroded steel elements, platform strengthening, guardrail replacement, extension of the canopy structure for increased protection of the landmarked Monorail trains. Throughput improvement includes coordination of new platform edge gates, new ramps, new stairs and new seat walls.
