Everett Main Library Building Envelope Improvement Project, Everett, WA
The scope of work being performed includes the design of improvements and targeted repairs to correct conditions allowing water intrusion to the interior. Repairs include (but are not limited to): Low slope roof membrane and transitions, roof parapets, flashing, cement board stucco cladding, failed mortar joints & masonry, corroded brick ledgers, failed single wythe masonry walls above roof structures, failed plaza deck coating. Work includes repairs to wood windows, wood clad windows, and aluminum storefront windows, but no windows are being replaced. Existing windows will be tuned up with some patched and painted, and their rough openings waterproofed, sealed, and integrated with weather resistive barriers. Exterior single with and brick veneer masonry walls will be treated with penetrating sealers to repel weather. There are no changes to occupancy, site accommodations, parking or fire rated assemblies. Where work is performed on the building enclosure assemblies, the intent is to make the enclosures more weather resistive than the original while respecting the design aesthetics of both the 1930's original structure and the 1990 addition, and performing all Work as required by the Contract Documents.
