The Project consists of furnishing all materials, labor, equipment, tools, etc. unless otherwise specified, for the complete and operable installation of: The University Lake Permanganate Facility for storage and feed of sodium permanganate at the University Lake site in Carrboro, NC, and all associated work. The project includes a polyethylene bulk storage tank and a concrete secondary containment structure. The new facility includes a concrete frame superstructure with masonry walls and precast plank roof to house the bulk storage tank, chemical metering pumps with VFDs, associated power and control systems, and auxiliary building systems for lighting, HVAC, plumbing, tempered water heater, and fire suppression. The chemical facility includes a remote I/O panel for communication with OWASA’s water treatment plant SCADA system. OWASA’s existing raw water pump station PLC will be programmed to monitor and control the new chemical storage and feed facility. Site work includes erosion control, stormwater improvements, grading, and paving. Orange Water and Sewer Authority requires the Project to be at Substantial Completion within 330 consecutive calendar days from date of Notice to Proceed and at Final Completion 365 consecutive calendar days from date of Notice to Proceed.
