The work to be performed under this contract consists of asphalt pavement overlay. The project includes general requirements such as traffic control, shoulder clipping, milling, sweeping, tack, leveling, surface treatment application, resurfacing, and restriping. The project will require some patch work that will consist generally of undercutting to remove roots and damaged base material, replacing unsuitable subgrade material and placing new base and paving. All work and material shall be in accordance with the Technical Specifications and the construction drawings. Each Proposal must be accompanied by a bid bond for an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the bid amount. If for any reason whatsoever the Bidder withdraws from the competition after opening the bids, or if he refuses to execute the Contract, the Owner will proceed on the Bid Bond. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
