Bing Maloney Golf Course Tree Project, Sacramento, CA

Sacramento County

Owner Reference: B21191011001

Bid Date: 04/20/2021 at 02:00PM

The scope of work addresses the City-managed trees at the Bing Maloney Golf Course that exceed the established height thresholds associated with the proximity to the Sacramento Executive Airport. The work is divided into two parts. The first will be the removal of all trees located in the section labeled "Cork Oak Stand" on Diagram 1. All trees in this section shall be removed at grade and receive a stump treatment with systemic herbicide within 5 minutes of the final cut. The second part of the scope will be to perform a crown reduction to the specified trees located in Table 1 to ensure long term compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regulations. All pruning shall comply with Ansi A300 standards, and International Society of Arboricultural (ISA) Best Management Practices(BMP) for canopy reduction, while maintaining as much of the natural form and structure of the tree as possible, where the stems and branches are reduced back to appropriate living branches capable of assuming the terminal role. If the height reduction requirements prevent substantial adherence to ANSI A300 standards or, make it infeasible to reasonably maintain compliance with FAA height regulations for a five year period, then the contractor shall notify the City Arborist for Parks for direction on nonstandard pruning or removal. Contractor will be responsible for removal of all associated debris from the work site. Questions are due by Apr 9th @ 02:00 PM. Work must be completed within 12 weeks of contract execution.
