The construction of this project is federally funded and shall comply with all federal requirements. The proposed project includes realignment of the existing all-way stop controlled intersection into two three-legged roundabouts located in the southwestern and northeastern corners of the existing intersection connected by a median. The roundabouts will have two inscribed circles of 110 feet with splitter islands on all of the approaches. Access will be provided to the existing shopping center via the southernmost roundabout. The Project consists of the following major elements: installation of curb and gutter, drainage structures and pipes, concrete sidewalks (5 to 12 feet), signing and marking, landscaping and all associated Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements including handicap ramps and driveway upgrades. As a result of the construction, miscellaneous water line adjustments will be required to meters, valves and fire hydrants. All other required utility relocations will be handled directly by the utility owner. A bid bond is required for this project. A Bid Bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each Bid. The Bid Bond must be submitted with the Bid. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
