Construction includes selective demolition, excavation, grading, cast in place concrete, precast concrete plank, masonry, structural steel, metals, insulated metal panels, glazed curtain wall, roofing, finishes, freight elevator, fire suppression, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work including low voltage and new service. The three-story West Wing will be built west of the existing Museum, and will provide "white-box" gallery space on the upper level, storage on the middle level, a 100-person auditorium and mechanical room on the lower level, and a hydraulic freight elevator serving the three levels. In addition to the structurally independent building, there is also associated interior renovation at all three levels of the existing building at the areas of connection. A new concrete pad and HVAC cooling tower will be built adjacent to the existing staff parking lot to serve the new wing.
