This project will replace the building’s original electrical system; upgrade or replace the HVAC system, replace the roof and replace or refurbish the original single pane glazed windows. Labs will be repurposed for general academic or dry lab use. The renovation will also relocate and demolish the infill of first floor faculty offices that were added to the building’s east facing elevation in the 1990’s. The BOR’s Campus Historic Preservation Plan will guide renovations of rehabilitation to interior upgrades and exterior improvements while preserving historic features. Kennesaw State University, Project No. J-384, Crawford Lab (Bldg. E) Renovation, CM RFQ/RFP 3 Kennesaw State University’s 2016 Master Plan proposes renovating the Crawford Lab Building for general academic use following other building renovations on the historic campus such as the Mathematics Building. The prospective CM/GC will provide preconstruction services which may include, without limitation, technical review, cost verification, cost evaluation, value engineering, schedule development, and schedule evaluation, in addition to management of the construction. The CM/GC will be expected to work collaboratively with the Design Professional to develop component bid packages during construction. In addition, CM/GC will be responsible for methods of construction, safety, and the scheduling and coordination of the work of all construction and miscellaneous contracts required for completion of the project within its predetermined budget and schedule. The successful CM/GC will be required to work collaboratively with the Owner’s consultants. The Owner may also employ a Commissioning Agent to perform design analysis of the various building systems. The Construction Manager is expected to work closely with the Commissioning Agent as well. Questions will be submitted and answered by email, per the owner. Bonds Required.
