The City of Fredericksburg, Virginia submits this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to solicit Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from those entities (Offerors) interested in contracting to serve as the Design-Builder for the Pedestrian Bridge Replacement Project. The project is located in the City of Fredericksburg, Virginia. The scope of work includes removing and replacing two (2) pedestrian bridges in-kind that cross the Rappahannock Canal and connect to the Rappahannock Canal Path. The bridge sites are the following: • Normandy Bridge (Serial #94408): Removal, disposal, and replacement • Tom & Ruth Higgins Bridge (Serial #85153): Removal, disposal, and replacement The work generally includes removal and disposal of identified existing bridges, placement of new bridges, potential abutment changes, accessibility upgrades, related utility work (if any), protection/removal and replacement of existing vegetation, and maintenance of adjacent pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Each bridge location has been investigated to determine the appropriate site and structural recommendations. A condition assessment of abutments is required in performance of the work to determine the need for reconstruction or replacement of the abutments at each site to receive a new bridge. Deadline to submit questions: 5/20/2022 by 4:00 P.M. Anticipated Award Date: October 2022, Final Completion: Not later than December 2023. Bonds required.
