Chatham County Board of Commissioners is soliciting proposals from qualified companies to design, provide and install commercial grade playground equipment and certified poured in place rubber flooring at two (2) Chatham County parks. Lamarville playground should be designed to accommodate children ranging from 5 to 12 years of age on the main playground with 2 straight slides, climbing wall, attached swings for 5 to 12 year olds and pull up bars. The design should also include a detached swing for up to 5 years of age with 2 basket swings, spring riders and appropriate signage to inform users of property safety requirements. Burroughs playground should be designed to accommodate children ranging from 5 to 12 years of age on the main playground with 2 straight slides, climbing wall, attached swings for 5 to 12 year olds and pull up bars. The design should also include a detached swing for up to 5 years of age with 2 basket swings, spring riders and appropriate signage to inform users of property safety requirements. All structural components, tubing, decks, ladders, etc. shall be constructed of galvanized steel or aluminum and finished with polyester dry powder coating, plastisol vinyl coating, or zinc plating. All bolts, nuts, screws, washers and other hardware used for assembly of equipment must be corrosion resistant stainless steel. Post size for play sets may be 3-1/2” OD. All play equipment shall have a maximum fall height not greater than either (8) feet. All slides, roofs, and other plastic components shall be rotationally molded of a linear, low density, UV and color stabilized, polyethylene. County will remove all existing structures and will mark exact location for installation of equipment. It shall be the contractor’s responsibility to locate underground obstructions. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
