The City of Carlsbad (City) is requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) for design services from qualified engineering design consultants for drainage improvements to the existing City-owned earthen drainage channel on the east side of El Camino Real (ECR) from just south of Chestnut Avenue to Tamarack Avenue (see Location Map under Attachment A). The proposed improvements are intended to stabilize the existing channel, mitigate against erosion and reduce sediment transport. Generally, the scope of work includes but is not limited to channel restoration design, environmental review, permit applications and processing, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, land surveying, right-of-way verification and land acquisition, geotechnical engineering investigations, historic/cultural resource review, public outreach, construction plans and cost estimates, construction documents for bidding purposes, and construction supports. The subject improvements will also require project coordination and engineering support throughout construction.
