Built in 1961, the 6,000 GSF Farbar Building is a structurally sound block and stucco building with the Spanish Mediterranean design elements and materiality characteristic to the VSU campus. Originally designed and built as an infirmary, the building’s systems and a number of exterior elements are end of life cycle and require upgrades. The project scope includes renewal and upgrade of: all building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety, IT infrastructure); replacement of windows, window and door frames, and selected trim elements; exterior surface repair and refinishing; and interior renovation (partial reconfiguration, finishes, fixtures, and furniture). The project will bring the building into ADA and code compliance, including rebuilding the exterior entrance ramp to the entrance. While the original clay roof tiles are in good condition, they must be removed and reinstalled to allow partial replacement of the roof decking. Questions via email/writing are due by 10/17/22 at 4:00pm. No Phone Calls Please.
