The Town of Vinton is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from consulting engineering firms who wish to be considered to provide professional engineering services, construction engineering, and inspection services for: 1. Hardy Road Midblock Pedestrian Crosswalk: The pedestrian crosswalk is for the crossing of Hardy Road, between Bypass Road to McDonald Street, from a residential neighborhood to W.E. Cundiff Elementary School and Wolf Creek Greenway. 2. Gus Nicks Boulevard Midblock Pedestrian Crosswalk: The pedestrian crosswalk is for the crossing of Gus Nicks Boulevard, between Glade Creek Greenway Trailhead Parking to W. Madison Avenue, to connect the Glade Creek Greenway to Gish Mill Redevelopment Site. 1. The scope of work for the professional engineering services shall consist of providing the items listed below: • Surveying (including preparation of right-of-way and/or easement plats, if needed) • Sidewalk Design Plans • Geotechnical Borings and Analysis • Materials Analysis • Environmental Reviews & Permitting (including Permit Sketches) • Assistance and Participation in the Public Involvement Process (if needed) • Hydrologic and Hydraulic Analysis (including Stormwater Management & Scour Analysis) • Structural Analysis and Design • Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Plan • Pavement Marking, Signage and Signal Plans • Signal Design Plans • Utility Relocation and/or Adjustment Plans • Landscape Plans (if needed) • Specifications (including Special Provisions) • Cost Estimation • Construction Administration Support. 2. The scope of work shall consist of providing comprehensive construction engineering and inspection services for a Tier 1 transportation project in accordance with VDOT’s LAP manual which may include but is not limited to: • Construction Contract Administration • Projects Inspections • Materials Sampling and Testing. Questions due by 2pm, 2/8/22. DBE goal 12%.
