Work under this contract consists of sweeping, and cleaning roadways by removing and disposing of sand, leaves, weeds, brush, trees, refuse and other debris which has accumulated within the layout of various state highways as assigned in District 5, in full compliance with the MassDEP Policy No. BAW-18-001: Reuse and Disposal of Street Sweepings. Highway sweeping materials obtained from highway cleaning shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be disposed of by him outside of State Highway Limits subject to the regulations and requirements of local authorities governing the disposal of such materials, at no additional compensation. All work shall be performed within, and accessed by, existing State, City or Town roadway layouts. No rights to enter upon, or occupy, private property have been acquired for this project.
