Bastrop County is requesting a bid for Hot Mix and Fog Seal Services. Bastrop County has a need for TxDOT Item 340 and Item 315 (Dense-Graded Hot-Mix Asphalt and Emulsified Asphalt Seal) to be placed in various locations throughout Bastrop County on an as needed basis. The following is required when requested: • TxDOT Item 340 may require a Hot Mix overlay (1 ½” Compacted – Minimum) with a TxDOT prime to be placed prior to Hot Mix. Materials/Mix Design to be approved by the Bastrop County Engineer. • TxDOT Item 340 may require a Thin Hot Mix overlay (1” Compacted) with a TxDOT prime to be placed prior to Hot Mix. Materials/Mix Design to be approved by the Bastrop County Engineer. • Some areas will require a Fog Seal (TxDOT Item 315). Materials/Mix Design to be approved by the Bastrop County Engineer. Bastrop County does not guarantee a specific number of request for Hot Mix and Fog Seal Service. The anticipated contract has a not to exceed value of $437,500. When Bastrop County does request the Hot Mix and Fog Seal Services the awarded contractor shall provide Bastrop County with a written estimate (based on the unit cost per ton/gallon/linear foot provided in the response to this request for bids) for the requested project. The contract for the requested services will be utilized on a work order system. After the contractor provides a written estimate for the requested project, Bastrop County will issue a purchase order for the specific project requested by the Road and Bridge Commissioner and the issued purchase order will be considered the Notice to Proceed. The selected contractor SHALL mobilize and start work within Thirty (30) days of receipt of a work order (Purchase Order) issued by Bastrop County. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
