The scope of work for both Projects A and B include replacing the existing span-wire traffic signals with one double-arm mast arm structure and two 12-foot signal pedestals; upgrading underground conduit/pull box infrastructure; upgrading signal electric power; upgrading intersection lighting leveraging LED fixtures mounted on top of existing and new light pedestals; upgrading pedestrian control features and crosswalks; upgrading ADA ramps in accordance with the ADA requirements; implementing new internally illuminated street name signs; installing replacement inductive loops; replacing a portion of the existing twisted pair copper cable (6-pair); and deploying a new CCTV camera. The existing control cabinet will be relocated on new concrete foundation in its current footprint. New traffic signal wiring will be implemented that separate low and high voltage conduit runs/pull boxes. All bids, where the total amount bid is in excess of $200,000 require security in the form of a bid bond issued by a surety company licensed to do business in Florida, a cashier’s check, or an irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to five percent of the bid, unless the Purchasing General Manager issues a written determination that the imposition of such requirement would detract from competition without adding a material benefit to the City. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
