Request for bids for work and selected materials associated with Garland Power & Light (GP&L) Olinger1-Ben Davis (OL1BD), Olinger-Wylie1 (OLWY1), Olinger-Wylie2 (OLWY2) & Olinger-Wylie3 (OLWY3) transmission circuit crossings at Lake Lavon. The project is located in Collin County, Texas and includes construction of four parallel single circuit 138kV transmission lines across Lake Lavon (total combined line length is approximately 2.86-miles) and removal of two existing parallel double circuit 138kV transmission lines and associated structures. The new line construction includes installation of sixteen (16) new tubular steel transmission structures (twelve on previously constructed concrete drilled shaft anchor bolt foundations and four direct embedded on previously installed pole butt sections). Four (4) of the new anchor bolt structures lie within the limits of the Lake Lavon Conservation Pool (WS Elevation 492.0) and all of the new anchor bolt structures lie within the limits of the Lake Lavon Flood Control Pool (USACE Reference WS Elevation 503.5). Water depth within the transmission right-of-way at full Conservation Pool varies between zero (0) and approximately three (3) feet. Depending upon the lake water surface level during construction, the installation of new tubular steel structures within the limits of the Flood Control Pool may require special means and methods (to be determined by the Contractor and may include amphibious equipment, sheet piling & matting for access, helicopter, etc.). No fill materials may be placed within the limits of the flood control pool. The project is being constructed to improve system reliability and power capacity.Prevailing wages.
