San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (“MTS”) has determined that all contractors bidding on its American Plaza Pedestrian Enhancement Project (“Project”) must be prequalified prior to submitting a bid on any project. It is mandatory that all contractors who intend to submit a bid for the Project fully complete a prequalification application package including but not limited to the Prequalification Questionnaire provide all materials requested in the attached and be deemed prequalified by MTS to be on the approved list of bidders (“Approved Bidders List – American Plaza Pedestrian Enhancement Project”). MTS anticipates, subject to change in MTS’s sole discretion, the Project requiring prequalification that generally consists of the following: The work to be done includes furnishing all necessary labor, equipment, and materials for installation of roadway improvements, landscaping and irrigation install, raised crosswalks, crosswalk signaling, sidewalk improvements, and storm drain improvements along Kettner Blvd. between B St. and Broadway in downtown San Diego. The intent is to create a safer pedestrian connection between the Santa Fe Depot and American Plaza transit centers. The construction cost of the Project is estimated at $2,500,000. Questions are due by 5:00 PM on Oct 4th.
