Provide the labor and equipment to clean the ductwork systems and air handler units located in The Public Affairs Building. Scope of Work: A. The Contractor shall clean the HVAC components and verify the cleanliness through inspection and/or testing in accordance with items specified in the Bidding Documents and applicable NADCA Standards. B. Duct cleaning shall be limited to all supply air pathways including the supply fan unit, distribution ducting, risers, turning vanes, laterals to terminal units and diffusers. Also included is the cleaning of return air, exhaust air and transfer air diffusers and grilles. C. Prior to any duct cleaning, submit digital photographs of the as-is condition of all ductwork. D. Remove visible surface contaminants and deposits from within the HVAC system in accordance with the Bidding Documents. E. The HVAC system is defined to include all interior surfaces of the facility’s air distribution system, including internally lined ductwork as indicated in the Contract Documents and floor plan drawings. This includes ducts from the points where the air enters the system to the points where the air is discharged from the system. Coat all internally lined ductwork with a biocidal growth inhibitor. F. Encapsulate all internally lined ductwork with a water based protective coating to seal all surfaces. Encapsulation shall begin immediately at the air handler, and extend 20’-0” down the ductwork unless otherwise noted by University’s Representative. G. Report all missing or degraded insulation. The cost for repair or replacement of missing or degraded insulation, as approved by the University Representative, shall be compensated as provided under the Unit Price, and is not part of the Base Bid Work.
