The Work of this Contract comprises the addition of Pre-Engineered Hail Protection / Shade Canopies to the automobile holding areas at various rental car lots of the DFW Airport Rental Car Center complex. The canopies are constructed with galvanized steel structure and hail / solar resistant shade fabric made of high-density polyethylene mesh with a minimum life expectancy of 10 years continuous exposure to the sun. Design of the canopies and foundations is delegated to the canopy fabricator / installer. Where necessary, existing underground utilities will be rerouted around canopy column footings. Pavement will be removed as required for canopy column footings and utility relocations, and then patched and repaired flush with adjacent pavement. At canopy areas, fire lines will be modified and/or added to comply with current DFW fire lane requirements for access, width, and turning radius. Existing pole lights at canopy areas will be removed. Under-canopy lighting will be added on a separate meter and panel for each lease area. Power will be supplied via an underground feed from each existing lease area transformer. Existing ground and pavement surfaces or other affected existing construction will be patched and repaired to match adjacent undisturbed construction.
